MOTHER’S DAY

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL YOU MOM’S OUT THERE!!!!!

My Mother’s Day was awesome!

I was able to sleep in until around 8:00, which isn’t too much later than my normal 7:00 am during the week wake up call, but never the less, I stayed in bed and was not bother until 8:00 a.m. Then the breakfast came in, one egg, scrambled, one piece of toast, one cinnamon roll and one perfectly sweetened cup of coffee. Perri and I enjoyed a nice breakfast together watching a show called ” sell this house” it’s where two Realtors go into a home to let the owners know why it isn’t selling, Perri and I critiqued the house and knew exactly why it wasn’t selling…..TOO MUCH CLUTTER!  the stuff was every where, and really dark heavy curtains. Perri didn’t like the stained glass window in the kitchen, I had to agree and so did the Realtors, the window had to go! Anyway….

Next up the presents….. in school, Perri made a note pad with an original “Perri” drawing on it, of me standing next to a really big flower and a nice big sun in the sky, I love it and will use it all the time. I hope to get the original picture so I may be able to make more copies when my note pad runs out. It is perfect for shopping lists and notes to myself to remember things. I also received a “Starbuck’s Gift Card” everyone loves a “Starbuck’s Gift Card”. Then David and Perri planned an entire day for me, here’s how it went.

  1. Breakfast in Bed
  2. Miniature Golf at Mulligan’s
  3. Movie, my choice ( we saw “Nim’s Island”)
  4. Dinner, my choice we ended up at “Chili’s Because it was right accross the street from where we were and easy to get too.
  5. Dessert, I was able to pick from our new Yogurt place or Cold Stone, I picked Cold Stone, we have been to the yogurt place quite a bit lately.

After all that, I was pretty tired, and ready to come home, it was a great fun filled day. I got a hole in one in Mini Golf and was declared the winner only because it was Mother’s Day.

Then reality set in once we got home, Laundry needed to be done, the kitchen…well, it was cleaned up from breakfast but……I hate to say it, I needed it cleaned up the way I like it and if that means doing it myself, so be it. So off to the kitchen i went, cleaned that, started laundry and finished three loads by the time I went to bed at about 11:00pm. While I was cleaning up the house, Perri started watching “Star Wars a new hope” and David went outside to work on the patio a bit before it got dark. Everyone got things done and it was in the end a GREAT DAY!  I Love My Family and I thank them for making me feel so special yesterday and letting me win at mini golf.

HAPPY MOTHER”S DAY!

STAR TESTING!

This week is busy but not like it has been in recent weeks or months I should say. So it’s actually really nice and couldn’t have happened at a better time.

Perri has what the state calls STAR( Standardized Testing And Reporting) testing this week so the teachers want to make sure all the kids are in no way stressed. Our 2nd graders aren’t going to have thier end of the year performance because they don’t want the kids to be stressed over learning the songs and performing in front of parents. They say it’s too taxing on the kids. WHATEVER! I wanted a performance! Every 2nd grade class before ours did it!  By the way the test is so the schools can report on how good or bad thier students are doing. It’s all about $$$$

MY idea……The best way to not stress the kids out is to not have STAR testing! How about that! There will be no stress AND we can watch our little darlings sing cute patriotic songs for an hour one night before the end of the school year.

I know it’s Tuesday, but that is my Monday Rant for this week, only one day late. I was too stressed yesterday to write anything! Ha, Ha, Ha!

TALENT SHOW…..

Perri tried out for the French Valley Elementary School Talent Show last month and made the cut. She practiced and practiced until she felt she had her song down pat. Her song was “I got nerve” by Hannah Montana. Friday night was the show and Perri got up in front of about 300 Mom’s, Dad’s, Grandparents and friends and sang her little heart out, just as she did when she practiced at home. The show went off without a hitch and Perri got her moment in the spotlight just where she likes to be.
