OH YES! David’s Birthday/Father’s Day:

We started out by having a birthday party at my Mom’s house now this wasn’t just for David. That’s not how we do things, we combine as many celebrations together, NOT so we only have to see everyone one time in three months it’s just so David and I don’t have to drive down to SD every week, with David’s schedule and during school it’s hard to get down there sometimes ( actually a lot of the time) so we combine. so this Celebration was….Now keep up, it’s a lot.

David’s Birthday, My Dad’s Birthday, Father’s Day for my Dad, My Sisters Birthday and my niece Emily’s Graduation ( from 8th grade). I think that’s it. So I must tell you that when you have that many occasions put together, you have a lot of greeting cards to buy, I usually forget at least one because along with all that I just mentioned we also have our nephew Taylor’s Birthday in that same week. The thing with the timing, all these occasions are within two weeks of eachother, so there was no way David and I could get to SD that many times in two weeks, there was just no way! So back to the greeting cards, I had a list of cards I needed to buy and then a list of cards that Perri was going to make, I could buy a small car with the money I spend on greeting cards and gifts in this two week period. So to have Perri make a few is a great help. I don’t really have anything else to say about the cards so on to Father’s Day.

For David’s Birthday /Father’s Day, we took him to Knott’s Berry Farm, it has been awhile since either of us had been there, I took Perri when she was four and that was the last time for me and for David even longer. We had a great time Perri is just tall enough to ride most of the rides although they have some rides there that I wouldn’t even get on, boomerrang, some water slide where all you do is go up, up, up really high and they drop you straight down on the other side, yeah, not for me PLUS you get all wet!  they have this huge swing, (sorry I don’t know anyof the names of these rides) there are 4 riders and they start you off just like a regular swing looks kind of fun BUT then they swing you so high that you are almost going in a complete circle, again, not for me! I could go on and on about how many rides we didn’t ride, but there were a few we did and had a great time. The day wasn’t busy so we were able to get in line and for the most part get right onto the ride also, The park was giving away what were supposed to be Cowboy hats for kids 11 and under and they were actually really nice considering they were free, but they really looked like an Indiana Jones hat. And Perri loved it, thjis was right up her alley she wore it the entire day! and then not toget off the subject too far, as a gift to my Dad, we got him a date with Perri for His Birthday, kind of a way to start a tradition. My mom does things with the grandkids throughout the year that she does every year and my Dad doesn’t do anything like that so we decided to start something for him. So we got Movie tickets, and Gift cards for them to eat lunch. They decided to go see the New Indiana Jones movie ( these movies, I think, are some of Perri’s favorites, next to Star Wars) so they went and had a great time, she even talked PaPa in to letting her ride the merry go round in the mall 6 times, Sucker! my point to this is that she wore her Indiana Jones hat from Knott’s berry Farm to the movie and thought she looked pretty good. Someday when I figure out how to put pictures on here I will post a picture of her and my dad so you can see her hat.

Because David’s Birthday and Father’s day  were just a day apart, on David’s Birthday we made a nice dinner for him and cupcakes and sang him happy Birthday , it was just the three of us and it was quite nice. Because the week before was so hectic, with it being the last week of school it was nice to just sit at home and enjoy some down time because we knew we would be at Knott’s the entire next day. And then Perri would want to know each and every day after that ” What are we doing today Momma?” as if we need to do something every day.

I’ll post more later, as always this is getting pretty long and needs to stop!
